Sad News Sudden Passing Alain Gravel 1947 - 2011
Died suddenly at his home Oct. 10, 2011, at the age of 63 years and 11 months, Alain Gravel, husband of Diane Gravel Mercier residing at la Baie. He was the son of Mrs. Mariette Gagnon and the late Mr. Lucius Gravel. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Gravel & son, Dignity 873, de la Fabrique la Baie.Friday, October 14, 2011 from 19h to 22h. Saturday from 11am.
The funeral will take place Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11am at St-Alphonse de La Baie.
Alain taught with passion for over 36 years, he was an active member of Archery Canada Tir à l'Arc an active volunteer for more than 30 years, he was a many times Vice President, President and faithful translator. He served on the Coaching Certification Committee, High Performance Committee and was a member of many International teams as team staff. His vision of a friendly archery community will live on in his memory!
He is survived: in addition to his wife, Diane Gravel Mercier, his mother, Mariette Gagnon, her sisters: France Gravel (Benedict Turner) and their children: Luke and Julie (his goddaughter), Sylvie (Jean-Pierre Simard) and their children: Martin and Stephanie (his goddaughter), Lynda (his goddaughter) (Cauchon Serge), her aunt Miss Georgette Mercier, his cousin and goddaughter: Sonia Meyers. He also leaves to mourn many cousins, relatives and close friends in the areas of kayaking and archery.
A volunteer from the Hospital Foundation in La Baie will be present at the showings to collect your donations.
