The Canadian Archery Foundation was established August 2009 in Laval, Quebec. The Foundation’s mandate is simply to develop archery in Canada. Official registration of the Foundation and establishment of the Foundation’s guiding principles and fulfillment of legal requirements are being addressed by a small work group. Founding members are: Ghislain Arsenault, Al Wills, Bob Tataryn, Don Lohnes, Roger Murray, Alain Gravel and Charlene Parlee. It is hoped when the foundations funds are large enough the foundation can start distributing funds to deserving archers and archery projects in Canada without the usual restrictions from government sources. It is hoped this could be as soon as 2019.
It was felt that Archery Canada Tir à l'Arc needed a way for members to show their condolences and recognition of members who have made significant contributions to archery in Canada. A book of remembrance will be maintained in the Archery Canada Tir à l'Arc office with the names and donors to the Foundation. Donations have been received and are now being supplemented by $1.00 per Archery Canada member per year.
Donations will be accepted for the Foundation for any reason. The actual amount of donations will be kept confidential. Families of those in whose name contributions have been made will be notified of the contribution (not the amount) and the entry in the Book of Remembrance. The Book of Remembrance will be displayed on the Archery Canada Tir à l'Arc website.
In Memoriam Donation
Honour a family member, a friend or a colleague who has passed away by making a donation on his or her behalf through the Canadian Archery Foundation. An in memoriam donation is a thoughtful way to keep someone’s memory alive while continuing to support the cause they cherished in life. Each generous donation helps to build the sport of archery.
With a donation of $125 or more, you will receive a Foundation Supporter Memorial Coin.
This is the new (March 2015) Archery Canada Foundation Coin, more details to follow soon.
