Canada’s Para Archery Team set sights on Sao Paulo – Para Pan Am Championships

OTTAWA, ON – Archery Canada is proud to announce the team of para archers set to compete at the Para Pan American Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The team includes four male archers, with two competing in the recurve open category and two in the compound category.

The para athletes competing at the Para Pan Am Championships are:

  • Chris Waterman (MB)
  • Kyle Tremblay (ON)
  • Jean-François Lavergne (QC)
  • Shawn Matheson (ON)

Supporting the team will be Linda Price, of Mission BC, acting as Team Manager and coach, and has been working with Kyle Tremblay and the Para Team in a coaching support role for the last season. Joining her will be Kevin Evans of Cranbrook, BC. Kevin is a former member of the Canadian Para Archery team, who will be attending as a developing coach in Para Archery.

The event schedule for the Para Pan American Championships is as follows:

Sunday, April 21: Arrivals
Monday, April 22: Arrivals, classification, and free practice
Tuesday, April 23: Official practice and equipment inspection
Wednesday, April 24: Qualification round (all categories)
Thursday, April 25: Elimination Rounds to semifinals
Friday, April 26: Mixed teams, doubles, and award ceremonies for mixed teams and doubles
Saturday, April 27: Individual Finals and award ceremonies
Sunday, April 28: Departures
